Madawaska-- Robert J "Bob" Bilodeau passed away after a brief illness at a Fort Kent Health Facility on December 12,2020. He was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec on July 27, 1922 the son of Amable Bilodeau and Elmina Gervais. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Manon and her husband Glenn Raymond Sr. They were fortunate to have him live with them in their home for the last five years of his life. He was predeceased by his wife Carmen Fournier in 2007. They had been married for 61 years when she died. He was predeceased by a brother Roger Bilodeau of Montreal, Quebec and a sister Marielle Jenkins of Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of the American Legion for 75 years and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served in the US Marines and Army during 1942-1945 during WWII where he received a Purple Heart for receiving an injury 3 days before the war ended. He was proud of the medals he had earned and proudly showed his display to anyone who wanted to see them. He was someone that loved people and had a quiet demeanor. He worked for Fraser Papers/Twin Rivers for 50 years as an electrician. A heartfelt thank you for the comfort care he received during the last two weeks of his life at NMMC and for Dr. Chua for being such a kind and compassionate doctor. There will be no funeral services and will be laid to rest at the Veteran's Cemetery in Caribou. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home
