Fort Kent--- Roderick J. Michaud Sr., 85, peacefully entered into rest on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at a Frenchville healthcare facility. He was born April 15, 1938 in St. Francis, a son of the late Alderick and Maria (Jandreau) Michaud.

Rod was a long-time school bus driver for Fort Kent Schools until his retirement in 2003. Previously he worked in and around the woods and construction and served several years with Ashland's Fire and Ambulance Department. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. An avid musician, Rod's favorite times were playing guitar and singing through the evening to entertain his family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Roderick "Dickie" Michaud Jr. of Soldier Pond; one sister, Pauline Michaud of Allagash; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kristen and Joshua; two great grandchildren, Zoe and Miles; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Rod was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Norma (Bard) Michaud in 2021, and one brother Irvin Michaud.

Services will be held privately and at the convenience of Rod's Family. Arrangements were entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
