Grand Isle--- Rodrigue "Frenchie" Pelletier, 75, passed unexpectedly September 27, 2023, following a tragic accident. He was born May 8, 1948, in Riceville, NB, Canada, a son of the late Wilfred and Rita (Lizotte) Pelletier.
He was a lifelong welder and worked for the union in Quincy, MA for many years. During his many years as a traveling welder, he traveled all along the East Coast and into Texas, many times his family relocating with him. Following his retirement in 2003, he relocated to Grand Isle, Maine. He was a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Grand Isle, and former Grand Knight. He was a longtime volunteer for Meals on Wheels and loved to spend hours with his friends at the American Legion playing cards late into the evening.
He is survived by his son, Tony Pelletier and his wife Paula of St. Petersburg, FL; six siblings, Yvonne Levesque, Juliette Levesque, Jacqueline Pelletier, Esther Smith, Robert Pelletier, and Jacques Pelletier; his companion, Lisa (Hebert) Thibeault; four grandchildren, Jacob, Benjamin, James, and PJ; one great grandson, Jordan; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Frenchie was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Claudette (St. Onge) Pelletier in 2016, an infant daughter, Tina, and siblings, Carmelle Boutot, Gisele D'Astou, and infant brother Jean Claude Pelletier.
A graveside service will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, October 6, 2023, at St. Gerard Cemetery, Grand Isle. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 114-10th Ave., Madawaska.
