Van Buren--- Roger G. Butler, 65, passed away during his sleep on March 25, 2023, following several years of health issues. He was born May 14, 1957 in Caribou, a son of the late Raymond and Simone (Boucher) Butler.

Raised briefly in Caribou, Roger and his family spent their formative years in Bridgeport, CT. As an adult, he relocated to the Gulf Coast of Florida for many years, where he was a skilled sheet rocker. He relocated back to northern Maine 2011, where he continued working sheetrock all over Aroostook County. Roger enjoyed watching all sports, especially basketball, and had an encyclopedia of sports statistics in his head. He loved to socialize with his friends and family and cherished many nighttime campfires with a cool drink in his hand.

He is survived by his long-time companion, Joyce Gochenour of Van Buren; a daughter, Samantha Butler; seven siblings, Betty Orbin, Jeannette Potter, Jennifer Kravitz, Richard Butler, R. Dave Butler, and Irvin Butler; and many nieces and nephews.

At Roger's request, funeral services were private and at the convenience of his family. Arrangements were a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
