Fort Kent---Roger Deschaine, 90, passed away on March 7th, 2026, at Forest Hill Nursing Home. He was born in Fort Kent, Maine on May 25th, 1935, the son of the late Emile J. and Eva (Caron) Deschaine. He leaves behind his only child, a daughter, Laurie Deschaine, with whom he taught to dance as a child by letting her stand on his toes. As adults, dancing together felt like the world disappeared, leaving only the two of them gliding across the floor. Even miles apart their bond has always and will always be a special one. Roger is also survived by his sisters, Joan Pimentel, Jackie Raymond, Shirleen Deschaine, Anna Mae Raymond and her husband Don, and Rinette Nadeau and her husband Yves; his brother, Philip Deschaine and his wife Linda; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Emile and Eva; his sister, Yvette; his brothers, Richard and Carroll; his wives, Bernadette, the mother of his daughter, and Patricia, who shared a meaningful chapter of his life; and by the faithful pets who were part of his life through the years. Roger served in the Army in his early years, later settling in CT, where he worked for over 25 years at Black & Decker. After retiring, he returned to his childhood home in Fort Kent. He was a hard worker who loved keeping busy building things, working on puzzles, and spending time with family in the place he loved most. He was kind, thoughtful, funny, and a loving presence in the lives of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed. The family would also like to thank the staff at Forest Hill and Hospice of Aroostook for their loving and thoughtful care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at St. Louis Church in Fort Kent. Relatives and friends may offer their condolences at the church on Wednesday before the Mass from 9am until 9:45am. Interment will be held at the Holy Family Cemetery in Daigle
