Obituary

Madawaska---Roger Joseph Dionne, “Alphonce Dube”, 73, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Madawaska on April 25, 2026. He was born in Madawaska on November 25, 1952, son of the late Clifford and Rose (Lagasse) Dionne. Roger was a hardworking man who spent his life in construction. He had the ability to build anything and the ingenuity to think outside the box. He carried a quiet strength that made him a pillar to his family near and far. He loved fishing, reading, and sitting in the sun sans clothes. He loved spending time with his family and his four-legged buddy, Charli. To his family, he was everything – a steady presence, a gentle protector, and a source of unwavering support. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane (Dalczynski) Dionne, whom he adored for fifty one years; three children, Tracy (Chet Giersz), Jenney (Dennis Dionne), Jonathan (Marlem Cardoso); twelve grandchildren, Tristen, Taylor, Jeremy, Trinity, Jacob, Jackson, Teagan, Tenley, Donovan, Christian, Devaroe, and Liliana; two great-grandchildren, Zoey and Novah; nine siblings; forty one nieces and nephews, whom he cherished. He was predeceased by one sister, Rachel Dionne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Relatives and friends may offer their condolences on Wednesday at the church from 9am until 9:45am. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home in Madawaska.
