IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roger L.
Gendreau
January 24, 1939 – November 8, 2025
Madawaska---Roger "Pit" Gendreau, 86, passed away peacefully surround by his family on November 8, 2025, at a Madawaska health care facility. Roger was a man deeply rooted in his faith, community, and love for family. He was born the youngest child of Joseph and Edith (Clavette) Gendreau on January 24, 1939. He married the love of his life, Jacqueline (Voisine) Gendreau, on August 24, 1959, in Fort Kent. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, love, and family through the 56 years they shared. Even though Jacqueline passed away before him, Roger carried her memory with him every day. Roger was known for his quick wit, warm spirit, and unwavering kindness. His generosity knew no bounds; he would give anything he had to help anyone in need and did so with a smile. In his younger years, Roger enjoyed golfing and fishing, but his greatest happiness came from the time spent with his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was the heartbeat of his life. Roger is survived by his children, Dennis and wife Ann of Lebanon, VA, Kenneth and wife Brenda of Madawaska, Peter and wife Suzanne of Monticello, GA, and daughter, Nicole Chamberland and husband Mark of Saint Agatha. He leaves behind grandchildren Adam Gendreau, Cherie Gendreau, Jesse Gendreau, Jacob Gendreau, Nathan Chamberland, Kyle Chamberland, and Emma Chamberland; step-grandsons Devin Michaud and Nicholas Sirois; and great-grandchildren Bianca, Rylee, Ava, and Camille Gendreau, Elliot and Lucie Beaulieu, and Lincoln Fontaine—with one more blessing expected in March. He is survived by his beloved sister Claudette Mavor of Caribou. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, six brothers, Wilfred, Willard, Aurel, Hector, Ernest, and Clifford, and six sisters, Jeanne Marquis, Sadie Couture, Edwina Sirois, Marie Mae Ouellette, Olivine Desjardins, and Bernice Daigle. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Ridgewood Estates for the exceptional care he received. Your dedication and compassion meant so much to our family. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10am on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Saint Thoms Aquinas Church. Interment will be held immediately following the Mass at the Parish cemetery. Donations in Roger's memory may be made to Ridgewood Activity Department, 480 Ridgeview Ave, Madawaska, ME 04756. Rest in peace, dear dad. You were a gift to this world, and your light will never dim.
