IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roger J.
Nadeau
June 7, 1931 – December 11, 2022
Madawaska---Roger J. Nadeau, 91, passed away on December 11, 2022, at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born in Madawaska on June 7, 1931, son of the late Donat and Ernestine (Rossignol) Nadeau. Roger passed away peacefully with his family by his side. His final requests were for the family to take care of his wife and to look over each other. Roger was a Korean War Vet, joining the Army right out of high school. He was the most amazing father, and we were blessed to have his guidance throughout our lives. His children and grandchildren were his primary focus. All would tell you that he could be stubborn and complain at times, but he will always be remembered for his loyalty to his family. None doubted that he would always be available when help was needed. He loved taking care of the grandchildren for days on end and when he did, we all knew that the house would be vacuumed, floors swept, dishes done, laundry folded, and often lunch or supper would be ready. He loved working on the horse farms helping his daughters and their husbands put up fencing, work in the hay fields, clean stables, or any other farm chores that he could help with. He helped build the homes for his four children and spend days and weeks working side by side with them without ever a complaint. He attended as many basketball and soccer games as possible to support both his children and grandchildren at these events. He could give the longest lectures about the lessons of life to both his children and grandchildren and if we could sit long enough to hear him out, we could realize the value in these lectures. He was always ready to give advice and help us all make decisions. His passion and his hobby were his family and all who knew him well were very aware of his love for his family. He will be missed. He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Lorraine (Picard) Nadeau of Madawaska; four children, Dr. John Nadeau and his wife Ronda of Woodland, Diane Charette and her husband Dale of Mapelton, Ann Babin and her husband John of St. Agatha, Janice Labrie and her husband Duane of St. Agatha; seven grandchildren, Travis Nadeau, Jamie Daigle, Kyle Labrie, Chad Daigle, Julie Nadeau, Carson Labrie and Paige Labrie; three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven siblings, Lionel, Norman, Yvon, Elmo, Laurien, Therese, Patricia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on January 14, 2023, at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may offer their condolences at the church from 9am until 9:45am on Saturday before the Mass.
