Ouellette
July 15, 1937 – April 26, 2024
Fort Kent--- Roger Ouellette, 86, passed away peacefully April 26, 2024, at a Frenchville healthcare center. He was born July 15, 1937, in Fort Kent, a son of the late Adrien and Juliette (Paradis) Ouellette, and was a graduate of Fort Kent Community High School.
Roger last worked with former Quigley's Hardware for over 45 years, occupying various positions as salesperson, associate, but best known for helping patrons with his sheet metal skills. Roger was an avid fisherman and hunter and he loved to tour the many woods and waters around his beloved hometown of Wallagrass. He also took up golfing in his later years and was a member of several golf clubs and competitions. Roger was a beloved jokester and loved to hassle his many friends, customers, but especially his family. Roger was a member of the Maine National Guard and was a long-time member of the Fort Kent Lion's Club.
He is survived by three children, Mark Ouellette of Terryville, CT, Corinne Ouellette and her life companion Chase Chasse of Wallagrass, and Rachel Blair of Eagle Lake; nine siblings, Roderick "Whitey" Ouellette and his wife Sue, Charlene Corriveau, Jacqueline Haynes, Martine Bard and her husband Roger, Rena Guimond and her husband Joel, Joan Voisine and her husband Tony, Joyce Labbe, Eugene Ouellette, and Ronald "John" Ouellette and his wife Jean; three grandsons, Jake, Kyle, and Jesse; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Roger was predeceased by his beloved wife of 44 years, Jeanette (Dube) Ouellette in 2004, a grandson, Billy Joe Davenport, one sister, Evelyn Perreault, and brothers-in-law, Delsie "Dike" Corriveau and Vinal Haynes.
The family of Roger Ouellette would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to St. Joseph Memory Care, Frenchville, for their compassionate care during Roger's several year stay.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, May 3, 2024, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday morning 8:30 – 9:30 AM at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent. Spring interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wallagrass.
