Fort Kent and St Agatha --- Roger Philip Ouellette, February 20, 1957 – August 25, 2018. It is with great sadness that the family of Roger Philip Ouellette announces his passing after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at the age of 61 years. Roger was born in Fort Kent Maine on February 20, 1957 the son of Albert J. Ouellette and Yvette Labrie. A native of St Agatha Maine, Roger grew up learning the value of hard work on the family farm. After graduating from Wisdom High School in 1975, Roger enlisted and served two years in the US Army. He then attended Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute in Presque Isle learning the trade of tin smith, with which he earned his living for 39 years at Fraser Papers, now Twin Rivers Paper in Madawaska, Maine. Throughout his life Roger maintained a kind and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. His incredible kindness and beautiful soul were shown through his warm and welcoming smile. Roger was an avid pool player who also enjoyed playing cards and board games which he always played "to win". His favorite place to be was surrounded by the people who loved him at his lake house on Lac Caron where he took pride in every project he worked on. Roger wasa loving and dedicated husband, father and brother, Roger is survived by his wife of 20 years Greta Soucy Ouellette, his daughter Cheryl and John Dumond of Newbury NH, his son James Harvey Jr of Fort Kent, sisters Claudette Pelletier and Linda (Lionel) Chamberland of Madawaska, Dora (Ralph) Ouellette of Millinocket, brothers Robert of Florida, Richard (Rella) of Connecticut, Frank (Debbie) and Albert Jr (Karen) of St. David Maine, his mother in law Germaine Soucy of Fort Kent, sisters in law Claudette O'Connell of Bangor and Ruth (Alan) Iampietro of Massachusetts, and several niecies and nephews. Roger was predeceased by his mother and father, sister Jacqeline Ouellette and father in law Roy R Soucy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Friday, August 31, 2018 at the St. Louis Church in Fort Kent. Family and friends may call at Lajoie-Daigle funeral home from 6-8pm on Thursday, August 30, 2018 and from 9-10:45am on Friday, before the service.
