Frenchville---Roger "Babe" Roy, 77, passed away December 3, 2011 at a Bangor health care facility. He was born in Frenchville on October 7, 1934, son of the late Albert and Laura (Ouellette) Roy. He worked at Fraser Paper as a mill store supervisor for thirty six years, until his retirement in 1990. He truly enjoyed music, and in 1957 he started a band called the Rhythm Kings. He enjoyed the beauty of nature; he loved snowmobiling, atv rides, and landscaping. Babe was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and a Fourth Degree member of the Madawaska Knights of Columbus, Council # 2638. He is survived by his loving wife of forty nine years, Rachel (Gervais) Roy of Frenchville; his children, Regan Roy and his wife Diane of Frenchville, Ruth Roy Geary and her husband Michael of Portland, Mark Roy and his wife Renae of Wayne, PA; six grandchildren, Dominic, Derek, Isabella, Mallory, Emerson, Luke; one sister, Joan Ouellette of Edmundston. He was predeceased by two siblings, Paul Roy and Roberta Watson. A mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on Thursday, December 8 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Wednesday and from 9am until time of service on Thursday.
