IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roland E.
Pelletier
December 6, 1928 – February 25, 2019
Roland Pelletier, 90, went to his heavenly home February 25, 2019 at a Bangor hospital. Roland was born in Caron Brook, New Brunswick on December 6, 1928, son of the late Emile and Simone (Bouley) Pelletier. From the age of 11, Roland learned the value of hard work, finding jobs in logging camps, river drives and a gold mine. Paul Bunyan had nothing on him. Later in life, he moved to Madawaska and began a career at Fraser Papers, working at the mill for nearly four decades. Roland will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. He was proud and loved his family, and one of his greatest joys was to spend time with them. Family gatherings were always filled with food, music and fun. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Therese (Tardiff) Pelletier; one son, Ricky and his wife Elaine of Madawaska and four daughters, Linda and her husband Rick Propheter of Walkersville, Maryland; Brenda and her husband, David Pollock of Saco; Karen and her husband Rino Lavoie of Madawaska; and Sharon and her husband, Herb Ayer of Bangor; his brother, Gerard and his wife Yvette of Madawaska; sisters Jeannine Blanchette of Frenchville; Bernadatte Caron of Plainville, Connecticut. He is predeceased by one son, Herman of Van Buren; brothers Roger and his wife Etiennette of Caron Brook; Aurele of New Britain, Connecticut; sisters Yvonne and her husband Ovide Morin of Caron Brook; Rita and her husband Maurice Guerrette of St. Agatha; brothers-in-law Conrad Blanchette of Frenchville and Rosaire Caron of Plainville, Connecticut. He had 12 grandchildren: Tony Hanson and his wife Amy; Erin Pelletier and her husband Steve; Michelle Howatt and her husband Brody; Kristin Harvey and her husband Jason; Billy Hanson and his wife, Erin; Emily Thayer and her husband, Ryan; Mallory Lavoie; Alex Lavoie and his wife, Janelle; Lindsey Lavoie; Lance Lavoie; Harrison Ayer and Amelia Ayer and 13 great-grand-children, along with many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, March 2 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Madawaska. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home in Madawaska from 6:30PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, and from 9:00AM until 9:45AM on Saturday. Spring interment will be held in the Parish cemetery.
