Madawaska---Roland B. Marquis, 87, passed away on March 5, 2023 at a Madawaska health care facility.  He was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick on February 17, 1936, son of the late Alphee and Albertine (Gagnon) Marquis.  Roland was an avid outdoorsman and really enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was a member of the American Legion, post 49, where he was always found playing cribbage with his friends.     He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline (Malinfant) Marquis of Madawaska; three children, Peter Marquis of Madawaska, Sue Violette of Madawaska, Lynn Marquis of Westbrook; four grandchildren, Adam, Lydia, Julia, and Robin; three great grandchildren, Audrey, Blake, and Brielle; one sister, Bernadette Bourgoin and her husband Ronald of Massachusetts; many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by six siblings.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on Friday, March 10, 2023 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church.  Relatives and friends may offer their condolences at the church from 9am until 9:45am on Friday before the Mass.
