Madawaska-- Roland Michaud 81, died peacefully, Nov. 9, 2011 at a Madawaska Health Care Facility. He was born in Madawaska Nov. 5, 1930 the son of Patrick and Yvonne (Lavigne) Michaud. Roland and his wife owned and operated "Roland's Rendezvou" in Madawaska for 27 years. He was a member of the Madawaska Fire Department for many years. Roland enjoyed hunting, especially spending time at his camp on Long Lake. He is survived by three daughters; Carmen and her husband Allen Bouchard of Soldier Pond, Pat and her husband James Thibeault of Frenchville, Fernande and her husband Michael Salvail of Brunswick. One son Roland Jr. and his wife Bernadette Michaud of Madawaska. Seven grandchildren; Meagan, Benjamin, Whitney, Tyler, Kayla, Connor, Olivia and one great-granddaughter, Lilly, One sister-in-law, Winette Michaud, One brother-in-law, William Gill. In addition to his parents Roland was predeceased by his wife Loretta (Bouchard) Michaud in 2006, one grandson, Travis Michaud in 1991. Two brothers, Armand and Normand Michaud, Two sisters; Yvette and Georgette. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at Lajoie Funeral Home. Interment will be held immediately after the service in the parish cemetery.
