Madawaska---Roland "TATS" Pelletier, 75, passed away on October 20, 2011 at a Fort Kent hospital. Tats was born in Grand Isle on February 26, 1936, the son of the late Raoul and Irene (Theriault) Pelletier. He is now living his 5th day. A man of very strong faith, Tats was a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, council # 2638 of Madawaska, as well as a member of the American Legion Post # 147 also of Madawaska. He was a volunteer fireman, who was active in the state guards. Tats worked at Fraser paper for forty years. He was a gunsmith and gun dealer for twenty six years, enjoying his many collections. He enjoyed pyrotechnics. He was also very involved in the local food pantry. Tats was an avid sportsman and loved a good time, especially dancing and making people laugh. He is survived by his darling and devoted wife of fifty three years, Carlene Guerrette Pelletier of Madawaska; his two sons, Daryl and Bruce, whom he was so proud of; his daughters-in-law, Stacie and Odette, which he loved as his own; four grandchildren, Amanda, Ellis, Chelsea, and Justin. He was predeceased by his infant son, Duane and his six year old daughter, Donna; two infant grandchildren, Ethan and Leah; his step-dad Elude Deprey, and his only sibling Jerry in 2010. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on Monday, October 24 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Sunday and from 9am until time of service on Monday. Interment will be held immediately after the service in the parish cemetery.
