Obituary
Van Buren--- Rolande Cyr Laplante, 86, died quietly Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at a Van Buren healthcare facility. She was born April 30, 1930 in Hamlin, a daughter of the late Mauril and Sadie (Bellefleur) Cyr, and graduated from St. Agatha High School.
She worked hard as a farmer's wife all her adult life. In her younger days she enjoyed playing cards, going for Sunday afternoon drives with her husband, Paul, and getting her hair done.
She is survived by: her children, Lisa, Ron, David, Gloria, Richard and Pauline; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three brothers, Gerard, Claude and Clayton.
Besides her parents, Rolande is predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Paul Laplante.
The family is very grateful to Borderview Nursing Home staff for the dedicated care given to Rolande the last years of her life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Burial will follow in Grand River Cemetery.
