Madawaska---Rolande MacWhinnie beloved wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 14, 2026..
Born on July 26, 1938 in St. David, ME. Rolly was the loving daughter of Paul and Gertrude Gendreau. She grew up surrounded by the love of family and friends and carried that same love and kindness throughout her life.
On May 11, 1963 she married her love Rodney MacWhinnie and together they shared a beautiful marriage of 63 years. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to their family. Her greatest joy was being a mother to her daughter Becky and 3 sons Scott, Todd and Randy, whom she loved deeply and supported endlessly.
She will be remembered for her warm heart, strength, quick wit, and sense of humor. Rolly always had a way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for. Whether through family dinners, a good card game or a simple conversation on the phone, she always managed to create lasting memories for those she loved so much.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney MacWhinnie; her children, Becky Boulay and her husband Marc, Scott MacWhinnie and his wife Cyndee, Todd MacWhinnie and his wife Yolanda, Randy MacWhinnie and his wife Lori; 8 grandchildren, Randee Boulay, Ben Boulay, Chad MacWhinnie and his wife Jayne, Kiera MacWhinnie, Gabe Gemmecke, Ayden MacWhinnie, Avery MacWhinnie and Anyah MacWhinnie; 1 great grandson Nicholas MacWhinnie; 1 brother, Carl Gendreau; as well as several special sister and brother in laws, nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her siblings Gladys, Yvonne, Rachel, Lucien, Roland, Clarence, Yvon, Eldon, Clayton, and Eugene. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 8, 2026 at 10am at St, David Catholic Church. Family and friends may offer condolences to the family from 9am until time of the mass at the church. Interment will be in the St. Thomas Aquinas cemetery in Madawaska.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Mitchell at NMMC and the staff on the 2nd floor unit who provided exceptional care to our beloved Mom.

Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the love she gave so freely. She will forever remain in our hearts and memories.
