St. David---Ronald "Nal" Cyr, 72, passed away after a long illness on June 24, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Masardis on February 14, 1938, the only son of the late Alvine Cyr. Nal worked hard in construction and later became a potato grower for many years prior to his illness. He was a kind, honest, loving, and very generous man. He enjoyed having a good time and telling stories to his children and grandchildren. He also loved big family gatherings at his home. Nal is survived by his loving and caring wife, Hermance (Beaulieu) Cyr of 53 years; five children, Brenda St. Amand and her husband Don of Hermon, Elaine Selfridge of Caribou, Alan, Harold and his wife Cheryl, and Steve and his fiancée Carol all of St. David; six grandchildren, Jamie St. Amand and her fiancé Brent West of Bangor, Justin Selfridge and his wife Jamie of Caribou, Amanda Cyr of Caribou, Devan and Logan Cyr of St. David, and Andrew Cyr of Madawaska; two great grandchildren, Brendon St. Amand and Rachel West of Bangor. A Funeral Service will be held 10am on Monday, June 28 at the St. Gerard Church in Grand Isle. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Sunday. There will be no visiting hours Monday morning before the funeral. Burial will be in the parish cemetery immediately following the service. Contributions in Nal's memory may be made to Mizpah, P.O.
