Allagash—Ronald D. Merriman, 88, died August 18, 2023, at a Presque Isle health care facility.  He was employed at Fraser Paper in Madawaska from 1979-2001 when he retired as Mill Technical Services Superintendent.  He built his dream home in Allagash, Maine because of his love of hunting, fishing and gardening.  Ron is survived by his wife, Celine (Roy) Merriman; they met in St. Geayes, Beauce, P.Q. in 1973 and married in 1976.  She cared for him at home for one year and 3 weeks of Hospice Care.  He was only away from home for two days before passing away at the House of Comfort.  Ron is survived by their daughter, Merri Ann M. and two granddaughters, Isabelle and Sadie; two sons from his first marriage, Kevin and Patrick; brother, Richard; and sister Glennis.  He was predeceased by his brothers, Wylie, Tom, John, Gerald and David; sisters, Barbara, Phyllis, Janet, June, Lucille and Karen.

His service will be private with family and close friends at St. Charles Catholic Church in St. Francis.  In lieu of flowers do something kind for someone you love.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
