St. John--- Ronaldo J. Oakes, 70, Passed away on November 18, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born on August 24, 1947 in St. John, a son of the late Earl and Hazel (Plourde) Oakes. Ronaldo worked for Pratt and Whitney as an Engineer for 37 years. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed listening to music and was known to be quite a dancer.  Ronaldo is survived by his special companion and loving caretaker, Colette Charette of Fort Kent and her two grandchildren Scottie and Gracie; two step-children, Sandy and Dawn; two step-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Tracey; six step-great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Chelsea, Alexis, Taylor, Kristal, and Carl; seven brothers; Elray of Fort Kent, Olivio of Vernon, CT, Allen of Topsham, Denis of Madison Heights, VA, Ronnie of Bristol, CT, Louis of South Windsor, CT, Elmer of Waterbury, CT; six sisters, Marie St. Pierre of Vernon ,CT, Betty St. Pierre of East Millinocket, Anita DuLac of Hartford, CT, Noella Milligan of Bradley, Diane Sirois of Bristol, CT, and Debra Lagasse of Florida; many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Norma; two brothers, Linley Oakes and Alton Oakes; and one sister, Carol Plourde. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the St. Louis Church in Fort Kent.
