IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roseanne (Levesque)
Paradis
December 23, 1940 – November 14, 2024
Fort Kent--- Roseanne Paradis, 83, passed away November 14, 2024, at the Northern Maine Medical Center, with her family at her side. She was born December 23, 1940, in Baker Brook, NB, Canada, a daughter of the late Maurice and Rose-Alma (Bouchard) Levesque.
Roseanne attended the former Hotel Dieu, Edmundston, for several years to earn her RN Diploma in 1961. As a registered nurse, she went on to work at the Edmundston hospital for several years, both as a nurse and a clinical monitor instructor, before relocating to Fort Kent. She worked at the People's Benevolent Hospital, later called Northern Maine Medical Center (NMMC), first as a supervisor, then as the Director of Nursing (DON). She then worked at Forest Hill Manor and Valley Home Health Agency before returning to NMMC.
Roseanne had very high standards as a DON, and was so well organized and disciplined that she never hesitated to render a helping hand working the floor to help her staff. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Louis Church and she volunteered for several years at the local food pantry. Roseanne enjoyed crafting, quilting and sewing, and especially caring for her grandchildren. An avid reader, she would devour many books throughout the years. Roseanne was a wonderful cook and cherished sharing her craft with her children and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by infant Sarah in 1978, her son Daniel in 2012, and daughter Elaine in 2015, as well as several of her siblings.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roger Paradis of Fort Kent; two children, Sonya Paradis of Fort Kent and Marc Paradis and his partner Sean Mahony of Portland; seven grandchildren, Jessamy, Ethan, Erin, Rowan, Elizabeth, David, and Kate; a great granddaughter, Reina; several siblings; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at St. Louis Church, Fort Kent. Relatives and friends may greet the family Wednesday evening 6 – 8 PM at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
