Van Buren--- Russell "Canard" Ouellette, 80, died Saturday, October 18, 2014 at a Van Buren healthcare facility. He was born March 27, 1934 in Cyr Plantation, a son of the late Patrick and Hattie (Lajoie) Ouellette. Russell worked with many area potato farms for many years. He loved doing anything outdoors- fly fishing, hunting, and four-wheeling especially. He was a member of the Van Buren Pinerunners ATV club. He is survived by: three children, Russell Ouellette, Jr., Angelo Ouellette, both of Chicago, IL, and Tricia Levesque of Madawaska; and five grandchildren. Besides his parents, Russell is predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy (Thibodeau) Ouellette in 2010, two brothers, Norman & Edgar Ouellette and one sister, Lorraine Lajoie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15 AM on Friday, October 24, 2014 at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday 6 - 8 PM and Friday morning 9:3010:45 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
