Grand Isle--- Ruth Hannah McKinney (Haack) was born November 29, 1931 in Berlin Germany and died on April 6, 2023 at the Aroostook House of Comfort hospice center in Presque Isle, Maine. Ruth was a retired civilian Registered Nurse from Department of Defense. Ruth, together with her husband, was a world class traveler. She is survived by her husband of 36 years Charles D. Ames and two children Anne McKinney of Florida and Peter McKinney of Arizona. Her son Dan McKinney predeceased her in 2022. The last several years of her life were fought battling dementia and leukemia. Special thanks to all who provided her with excellent care over the past many months.
