Obituary

Madawaska—-It is with profound sadness and great love that the family of Ryan E. Pelletier announces his sudden passing on October 18, 2023, at the age of 50. He was born May 3, 1973, to Robert "Bob" Pelletier and Gayle (Plourde) Pelletier.

In spite of a serious, life-altering accident at the age of six that led to a lifetime of often unbearable physical challenges, Ryan lived life to the fullest, never gave up, and rose above the difficult circumstances he faced. Even when things were at their worst, he never showed signs of giving up. Ryan was a risk-taker that didn't back down at any indication that something might not come easy. If anything, the adversity fueled his determination.

Ryan was born with construction in his blood and a love for numbers. Throughout the years he's held various successful positions as a Project Estimator, Project Manager, and Operations Manager in the construction industry. He also was very much a people person who talked to others as if they were lifelong friends even if they'd only met moments before. These qualities drew him towards opening Rumors Pub and later to being the Town Manager of Frenchville for a number of years. No matter what Ryan was doing, he worked whole-heartedly and made connections with people everywhere he went.

He was a devoted and proud father who loved each of his children dearly. He was at his best when he was with his three children; Reece, Logan, and Blake. Time spent with their father ice fishing, riding snowmobile, taking the "Big Red" 3-wheeler out, learning to drive, using the tractor, or tinkering around the garage usually led to some sort of adventure and has left his children with many treasured memories they'll share for years to come.

Ryan also had a special angel come into his life on earth that brought a sparkle to his blue eyes and much happiness to his heart—Tammy, his fiancé. Together they brought out the best in each other, stood by one another in the hard times, shared memorable adventures of their own and had dreams and plans to spend life together. While their time together was far too little, the love they shared has forever changed both their lives for the better and will carry on.

Ryan was a compassionate, empathetic, caring, kind soul with a huge heart that was always willing to help others. He had special relationships with his family, friends and co-workers and has left anyone that knew him with some sort of "adventure with Ryan" memory to hang onto. Let these memories bring a smile in the midst of the tears. When you hear a good song, crank it up! If the restaurant you're at serves Ryan's favorite chicken parm, try it. If you land yourself in a Ryan style epic adventure, make sure to laugh. Most of all, never give up…for in persevering above tough circumstances, a piece of Ryan lives on.

He is survived by his Fiancé, Tammy Guignard and her family of Bathurst, New Brunswick; his children: Reece, Logan and Blake of Frenchville; his father, Bob Pelletier of Madawaska; his sister, Kim McGlinn and her husband, Jerry, along with their children Bethany, Matt and Cody of Mapleton; his brother, Randy, and his daughter, Katie, of Edmundston. He was predeceased by his mother, Gayle (Plourde) Pelletier.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2023, at Our Lady of the Valley in St. Agatha. Friends and family may offer their condolences at Lajoie Funeral Home in Madawaska on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be no visiting hours the morning of the funeral. Interment will be at a later date.
