IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra
Martin
March 17, 1958 – December 18, 2024
Van Buren--- Sandra S. Martin, 66, peacefully entered into rest and into the waiting arms of her Savior on December 18, 2024, at Aroostook House of Comfort, following a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Grand Falls, NB, Canada, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Jeannine (Madore) Martin and raised in Van Buren.
She was a jack-of-all-trades and easily found work wherever she went. Her favorite job was working at the local potato farms during planting and harvest time and created many lasting memories at Parent's Farms. While living in Connecticut for several years, Sandra worked various roofing and construction jobs before returning to her beloved St. John Valley. Family was of utmost importance to her, and she cherished raising and caring for her family and spending time with her siblings. Sandra loved traveling and was delighted to share many cruises, trips to Nashville, and Disney World with her son and beloved fiancé. Sandra loved BINGO and knew where she could catch a game anywhere in the Valley. She used her nimble fingers to create many quilts and blankets which her family and friends continue to hold as cherished heirlooms.
She is survived by her beloved fiancé, David Neal of Van Buren; a son, Leon "June" Gagnon of VanBuren; four "stepchildren;" four siblings, Clayton Martin of So. Carolina, Rudy Martin and his wife Nancy of Van Buren Cove, Elden Martin and his companion Tina Rossignol of Bridgton, and Denise Cormier-Martin of Van Buren; stepsisters, Wanda and Brenda; two grandsons, Joshua and Zachary; and many nieces and nephews
Besides her parents, Sandra was predeceased by a daughter, Cynthia Michaud in 1997, and siblings, Wayne Martin, Dale Martin and Diane Caron.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family 10 AM – 12 noon on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Burial will be in St. Leonard, NB, Canada. To share condolences online, please visit www.LajoieFuneralHome.com
