Obituary
Cyr Plantation & Van Buren---Sandra L. Parent, 58, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 19th, 2018 at Cary Medical Center in Caribou, ME. She was the daughter of the late Pearl (Akerley) Poitras, and Lawrence Parent, II.
Sandy was born in Hollywood, FL on November 12th, 1959, where she spent most of her childhood. She moved to Van Buren in 1976 where she graduated from Van Buren District Secondary School, and spent her entire adult life in Van Buren, ME. She earned a Bachelor's Degree from Husson University.
Sandy was a devoted mother and could always be heard cheering on the Van Buren Crusaders while her sons were in school. She was known as a hard worker, and made many sacrifices in her life. She was extremely proud to be a grandmother.
She is survived by her three sons – Sean Parent (Atlanta, GA); Jesse Begin and his girlfriend Amanda Labreck (Cyr Plantation, ME); and Matthew Parent (Atlanta, GA); four brothers – Larry Parent (Newland, NC); Christopher Parent (Ft. Lauderdale, FL); Jason Poitras (Grand Junction, CO); Cory Poitras (Fruita, CO); sister - Tracy Parent (Ft. Lauderdale, FL); step-mother - Carol Parent; three amazing grandchildren – Andrew, Neil, and Laurel.
Funeral services were held privately. Arrangements are entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
