Masardis---Sara (Abbott) Lafland, 74, passed away at a Presque-Isle health care facility on December 10, 2014. She was born in Masardis on September 11, 1940, daughter of the late George and Jessie (Goding) Abbott. She lived with her husband "soul mate" for fifty seven years in Masardis. She loved the outdoors, reading, time spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grand-daughters. She especially enjoyed the yearly family reunions at Old Orchard Beach. She is survived by her beloved husband, Donnie of Masardis; her daughter, Sherry and Scott McIntosh of Meriden, CT, and her grandson, Shawn McIntosh of N. Waterboro; her son, Terry and Libby Lafland of Dummerston, VT, and their children, Matt and Margo Lafland and their daughters, Amelia (7) and Zoe (17M), Jordan Lafland of Brooklyn, NY, and Calvin Lafland of Dummerston, VT; her sister and best friend, Mirabel Lakin and her favorite special niece, Kelly Robinson both of Kenduskeag; and her sisters, Louise Beaulier of CT and Lois Rattray of Ashland. Sara was predeceased by her brothers, Frank and George Abbott. A Funeral Service will be held 2pm on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Lajoie Funeral Home in Ashland. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 1pm until time of service on Monday. Interment will be held in the Masardis Cemetery later in the spring.
