Obituary

Grand Isle/Madawaska---Shirley Cyr, 75, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at a Madawaska health care facility. She was born in Grand Isle on August 11, 1936, daughter of the late Abel and Madeline (Levesque) Beaulieu. Shirley was a communicant of the St. Gerard Church and was devoted to working in the church basement for funeral buffets. Sewing and knitting were some of her pastimes, but cooking was her favorite. She is survived by two daughters, Roberta Thibodeau and her husband Normand of St. Basile, N.B., Tina Parent and her husband Allen of Madawaska; two sons, Richard Cyr and his wife Diane of Edmundston, N.B., and Mark Cyr of Grand Isle; six grandchildren, Daniel, Kim, Julie, Jenna, Remi, and Kody; two great grandchildren, Emily and Sabastian; two sisters, Marlene Lagasse and her husband Norman of St. David, Rachel Cyr and her husband Gerard of Madawaska; two brothers, Russell Beaulieu and his wife Anne, and Gene Beaulieu and his wife Dorina all of Grand Isle. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Richard Cyr and by one brother, James Beaulieu. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on Saturday, March 24 at the St. Gerard Church in Grand Isle. Family and friends may offer their condolences to the immediate family from 9am until time of service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC.
