MADAWASKA - Shirley M. Plourde, 83, passed away on February 23, 2019 at Westgate Center Nursing home in Bangor, ME.  Shirley was born on November 3, 1935, daughter of the late John McHenry and Marie Amanda McHenry.  Shirley was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish.  Her kindness and care giving were known by many.  She loved and was loved by her family, friends, and everyone she met.  Shirley is predeceased by her husband, Donald W. Plourde, and her brothers George, John, Gerry, and Franklin.  She is survived by her daughter, Debra and her husband, Andrew Gauvin of Hancock, ME, her daughter, Sandra, of Old Orchard Beach, ME, and her daughter Laura and her husband Ken Dumais of Virginia Beach, VA, her sister, Helen Gendreau, of Madawaska, brothers Edward and his wife Joan, Arnold and his wife Huguette of Madawaska, and brother, Patrick and his wife Eileen of Howell Michigan, 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 3 unborn great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Madawaska.  Family and friends may call from 6:30 – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 27 and 9:00 – 9:45 AM, Thursday, February 28 at Lajoie Funeral Home.
