Madawaska---Shirley Mae (Morin) Roy, of Madawaska, ME passed away peacefully at a Madawaska healthcare facility on October 29, 2024, at the age of 94. She was born May 7, 1930, in Lewiston, Maine, daughter of the late George and Ida (Ouellette) Morin. Shirley was known as a meticulous housekeeper and grounds keeper. She truly enjoyed spending time pruning her bushes and planting flowers. Word Find was done daily as well as her house cleaning. She always stated that her house cleaning was her daily exercise. She also enjoyed playing cards (5 Crown) and especially bridge, charlemagne and was pretty competitive at golf. In her younger years, she was a pretty fierce bowler when bowling in the women's and couple's leagues. Mom was a snowbird having spent 20 wonderful winters vacationing in Florida with Al. They had a beautiful mobile home on hole #5. It was a great place to oversee the golfers. In her younger years, Shirley was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She is now at peace with her best friend, Al. Shirley is survived by her brother Roger Morin of Alfred, ME; son, Ron of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and daughter Debbie and her husband Phil Caron of Madawaska, ME; two grandchildren, Alex Roy of Asuncion, Paraguay and Chelsea (Roy) Berube and her husband Mike of Mount Airy, MD and her only great grandchild, Oscar Hayes Berube. Shirley also had nieces, nephews, and daughter-in-law Miriam, who all held a special place in her heart. Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband, Albert, siblings Ruth Krampetz, Ronald Morin, Patricia Glaze and Janine Howard. The Roy family would like to extend their thanks to Ridgewood Estates for the exceptional care of Shirley. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10am on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Madawaska. Relatives and friends may offer their condolences at the church from 9am until 9:45am on Thursday before the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ridgewood Activity Dept., 480 Ridgeview Avenue, Madawaska, ME 04756.
