Van Buren---Simone Vaillancourt, 88, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2021, surrounded by her loving family and in the comfort of her own home.  She was born in Van Buren on December 28, 1932, daughter of the late Wilfred and Madeleine (Michaud) Marquis.  When not capturing memories of her family or the neighborhood moose on her camcorder she enjoyed anything outdoors, especially in the winter. She was an avid snowmobiler and enjoyed her many excursions to Bert's Restaurant.  She could also be found tobogganing down Vaillancourt Hill with her children and grandchildren.  "Ti Sim", as she was affectionately known, considered herself a part time meteorologist who took her job very seriously, passing along the doppler radar to her grandchildren.  She is survived by her six children, Ann Vaillancourt of Van Buren, Glen Vaillancourt and his wife Lisa of St. David, Lisa Vaillancourt of Connecticut, Susan Lajoie and her husband Phil of Van Buren, Pat Vaillancourt and his wife Lisa of Van Buren, Lynn Emery and her husband Tim of Van Buren; seven grandchildren, Todd Rossignol of North Carolina, Brad Lajoie and his wife Chelsea of Cyr Plantation, Liza Lajoie of St. David, Amy Dubay of Saco, Ashley Dubay of Van Buren, Patrick Vaillancourt and his wife Mariah of Cyr Plantation, Alex Vaillancourt of Van Buren; her great grandchildren, Lincoln, Bryson and Jaxson; one sister, Carline Parent of Connecticut; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Herbert P. Vaillancourt; six brothers, Francis, Raymond, Gerard, Robert, Daniel, and David Marquis.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Monday, December 27, 2021, at the St. Bruno Church in Van Buren.  Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home on Sunday from 6pm-8pm.  There will be no visiting hours on Monday.  Spring interment will be held at the Grand Riviere Cemetery.  Contributions in Sim's memory may be made to the St. Bruno Parish needs fund, C/O Knights of Columbus, 284 Main St., Van Buren, Me 04785 or to the Edgar J.
