Obituary

Hamlin & Van Buren – Steven S. Perreault, 73, entered into rest peacefully Friday, April 13, 2018, at his home. He was born May 16, 1944 in Caswell, a son of the late Albert and Eva (Lavoie) Perreault.

Steve was a longstanding business and community leader who owned and operated Tulsa, Inc. Beginning in 1971 with a small service station and convenience store, he and his wife, Lilly, eventually incorporated fuel oil and delivery service into the business. They expanded their services to Easton, and today the company's trucks are commonly seen navigating the roads of northern Aroostook County. Steve's desire to provide friendly, prompt service is a hallmark of the family business, and his most prideful moments were seeing not only the satisfaction of his clients, but also his work ethic passed down and exhibited by his family and large team of dedicated employees.

Steve and his family were appreciative of the friends, employees, customers, and healthcare workers who provided constant support during his extended illness.

Steve was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #1635, Van Buren, a member of the Gateway Snowmobile Club, and a board member of Northern Aroostook Alternatives, Inc.

He is survived by four children—Lynn Perreault of Tyrone, GA; Mark Perreault of Hamlin; Kim Lajoie and her husband Gil of Van Buren; and Keith Perreault of Hamlin; two brothers—Wallace Perreault and his wife Rachel of Ocala, FL, and Conrad Perreault and partner Pauline Ayotte of Van Buren; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Steve was predeceased by his beloved wife of 44 years, Lilly (Daigle) Perreault in 2010, and his sister, Martha (Perreault) Bernier in 2015.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. At Steve's request, there will be no calling hours. Spring interment will be in Grand River Cemetery, Van Buren. In lieu of flowers, Steve's request is to please support a local charity or someone in need in the community. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
