Fort Kent / Frenchville--- Sylvia (Gervais) Roy, 94, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2022 with her family by her side, at Forest Hill Manor. She was born on September 24, 1928, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Jane (Madore) Gervais. She was a teacher for Madawaska school district but left her career to be a dedicated farmers wife. They planted many acres of potatoes and had livestock; she never let hard work slow her down. Her favorite hobby was planting a garden, growing the best vegetables. She was famous for her zucchini bread/cookies and refrigerator pickles. She is survived by her six children, Jeannine Caron and her husband Lorenzo of Fort Kent, Pauline Collin and Tom of Frenchville, James Roy of Fort Kent, John Roy and his wife Cindy of Fort Kent, Marilyn Belanger and her husband Guilmond of Lac Baker, NB, Alan Roy and his wife Jennifer of Fort Kent; one brother, Paul Gervais; six sisters, Edwina Bellefleur, Aurella Morin, Gilmay Bouchard, Cecile Parent, Lucie Boucher, and Marie Mae Levesque; one sister in-law, Wellena Saucier; eleven grandchildren, Liza, Sonya, Lorenza, Patrick, Julie, Jenna, Dustin, Morgan, Kristen, Samantha, and Ellie; twelve great-grandchildren, Carter, Camden, Brayden, Reese, Raeya, Ryleigh, Missy, Luke, Molly, Sylvie, Jaëlle, and Noélie. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Alphie L. Roy who passed in 2010; four brothers, Lawrence, Sylva, Ronaldo, and Patrick; three sisters, Lillian Michaud, Juliette Sirois, and Berdina Blais. A Funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 17, 2022, 10am at St. Luce church. Family and friends may offer their condolences at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home the morning of the service from 8:30-9:30am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 51 US Rt. 1 Suite M, Scarborough, ME 04074 – or the Alzheimer's Association, 383 US Rt. 1 Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
