Obituary

Houlton/ Eagle Lake – Sylvia Smart, 82, passed away at a Houlton assisted living facility on October 8, 2017. She was born in Eagle Lake on September 28, 1935, daughter of the late Alphy Roy and Irene (Smart) Lamorre. Sylvia was known for her work ethic, and loved to attend family gatherings.  She was a beloved, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend. Sylvia was known to have a heart of gold. Her favorite pastime was knitting, and making things for her family and friends.  Sylvia is survived by her children, Gordon Albert of Florida, Barbara Gagnon of Wells, Bernadette Paradis and her husband Dan of Fort Kent; five grandchildren, Chris and his wife Kerri of Wells, Angie Brown of Sanford, Heather Albert and Gordie Albert both of Florida; five great-grandchildren, Shaina Belanger, Jacob Gagnon, Machayla Dube, Alex Gagnon, and Eli Brown; Two sisters Cynthia King of Mapleton, and Linda Ouellette of Sanford. Sylvia is predeceased by her step-father Alphonse Lamorre; First husband, Lester Albert, Second Husband, Hubert Smart, and special friend Robert Morneault; her granddaughter Cheryl Albert; two brothers, Alphonse Lamorre and Leo Paul Lamorre, and daughter in law, Michele Albert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Friday, October 13, 2017 at St. Mary's Church in Eagle Lake. Those who wish may call at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home in Fort Kent from 6-8pm on Thursday, October 12, 2017. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
