Madawaska--- Theresa Couturier, 89, peacefully entered into Eternal Life June 28, 2024, at Aroostook House of Comfort, Presque Isle, with her family at her side. She was born March 3, 1935 in Madawaska, a daughter of the late Denis and Mathilda (Doucette) Clavette.

Theresa left school as a teenager to care for her younger siblings. She eventually returned to school and proudly received her GED. Theresa was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and prided herself on raising and caring for all of her family. Her favorite times were spent with her family, and she cherished the many memories they created. Theresa was a longtime member of the Madawaska Gospel Church.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles Couturier of Limestone, formerly of Madawaska; two daughters, Brenda Parkinson of New Hampshire, and Susan Martin and her husband Brian of Caribou; three grandchildren, Chelsea, Devin, and Timothy "TJ"; three great granddaughters, Lillian, Ella, and Brielle; two sisters Vi Bouchard of Frenchville and Muriel Barry of Florida; four brothers, Gilbert Clavette and his wife Sandi of Connecticut, Maurice Clavette of Madawaska, Claude Clavette and his wife Jackie of Tennessee, and Oneil Clavette and his wife Donna of Madawaska; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers Lawrence, Donat, and Yvon Clavette and two sisters Simone Mack and Blanche Haskins.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Madawaska Gospel Church, Madawaska. Relatives and friends may greet the family Wednesday morning 8:30-9:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 – 10th Avenue, Madawaska. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Madawaska.
