Madawaska---Therese M. Desjardins, 85, passed away on March 29, 2013 at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born in Madawaska on March 22, 1928, daughter of the late Edmund and Leona (Thibodeau) Thibodeau. She worked for many years in the cafeteria at the Madawaska High School, enjoying being with the children of Madawaska. She was always willing to give a helping hand to those around her. Therese enjoyed knitting and camping at the lake, but most importantly spending time with her loving family. She is survived by eight children, Joan Desjardins of St. Jacques, Bernadine White and her husband Richard of Londonderry, NH, Evelyn Desjardins St. Jacques, Deborah Desjardins of Fredricton, N.B., Brian Desjardins and his wife Nicole of Albion, Susan Bourgoin and husband Pierre of Edmundston, Bruce Desjardins and his wife Lucie of St. Basile, NB, Edith Desjardins of St. Agatha; fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Therese was predeceased by her beloved husband, Emedy Desjardins in 2003; and by one grandson, Matthew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on April 2, 2013 at the St. David Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Monday and from 8:30am until 9:30am on Tuesday. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery.
