Madawaska--- Therese M. Dumais, 89, passed away peacefully May 14, 2025, at a Fort Kent healthcare facility. She was born April 25, 1936 in St. Agatha, a daughter of the late J. Henry and Marie (Picard) Dumais.

Therese was a lifelong educator, and her love of children was evidenced at the many family gatherings. Therese was a very involved participant with St. Thomas Aquinas Church and was a lifelong member of the Daughters of Isabella. "Matante" shared her love of travel and new adventures with many of her nieces and nephews. She was certainly an inspiration and mentor to many.

She is survived by a sister, Priscille Greenwood of Meridan, CT; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Therese was predeceased by her siblings, Bertrand Dumais, Lawrence Dumais, Doris Chamberland, Marie Mae McDermott, and Roland Dumais.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, June 20, 2025, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Madawaska. Burial will follow in St. Agatha Lower Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home, Madawaska. To share condolences online, please visit www.LajoieFuneralHome.com
