Van Buren --- Therese R. Gagnon, 82, died peacefully Tuesday, October 30, 2018, with her loving family at her side. She was born August 20, 1936 in LaJeune, Quebec, Canada, a daughter of the late Philippe and Lucianna (St. Pierre) Berube.
Her passion was raising her children, caring for her husband and home, and especially entertaining family and friends at many gatherings. She was a life-long, devoted parishioner of former St. Remi Church, and later St. Bruno-St. Remi Church. Therese was an avid knitter and was well known for taking great care of children in her community. A fabulous cook, she always had a warm meal for anyone that visited.
She is survived by: seven children, Philip Gagnon and his wife Lydia of Van Buren, Diane Crockett and her husband Stephen of Anson, Michelle Snow and her husband Brian, Wayne Gagnon and his wife Jeannine, all of Van Buren, Jim Gagnon of Reno, NV, Sue Lyons and her husband Manley of Van Buren, and Larry Gagnon and his wife Julie of Bangor; seven siblings, Rejean Berube and his wife Nicole, Andre Berube, Carmon Berube, Marcel Berube and his wife Francine, Andrea Berube and her companion Michael, Real Berube, and Alain Berube and his wife Francine; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Donald G. Gagnon in 1992.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, November 2, 2018, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Thursday 6-8:00 PM and Friday morning 8:30-9:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Donations in Therese's name may be made to: Borderview Activity Fund, 208 State St., Van Buren, ME 04785. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
