New Canada, Maine – Timothy J. Pinette, 65, passed away unexpectedly on September 19, 2025, at a Massachusetts hospital following a courageous 21-month battle to recover from a double lung transplant and rehabilitation. He was so very close to reaching his goal of returning home at the end of the month.

Tim was born on June 7, 1960, in Caribou, Maine, the son of Reginald Pinette and the late Rachel (Bragdon) Pinette. He grew up in Portage Lake, where he developed his lifelong love for the outdoors, enjoying countless days hunting, fishing, and spending time with family.

For over 19 years, Tim was proudly employed with Desjardin Logging of Wallagrass, Maine. The Pinette family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Desjardin family for their unwavering support, kindness, and comfort during this difficult journey.

Tim is survived by his devoted life companion of more than 15 years, Lisa (Starks) Rubin of New Canada, and his beloved grandson/son, Karter Rubin, whom he was lovingly raising, mentoring, and guiding. Lisa and Karter's lives are forever changed, and they will deeply miss their "Poppa."

He is also survived by his children: TJ Pinette and his wife Heather of Washburn, and Heather Pinette and her companion Anthony Sandbeck of Mapleton. Tim was a proud grandfather to Riley, Cassidy, Chandler, and Caleb. He also leaves behind his siblings: Tammy O'Clair and her husband Steve of Ashland, and Lori Cray and her husband Doug of Ashland; along with many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved to tease, including his special niece Melissa ("Molasses").

In addition to his mother, Tim was predeceased by his daughter, Darcy Pinette, who passed away in 2010.

Tim will be remembered for his humor, his resilience, his devotion to family, and his unwavering love as a father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His legacy of love, laughter, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life in Tim's honor will be held on October 4th at Noon . Family and friends will gather at the Portage Town Hall, 20 School Street, Portage, ME. The potluck gathering will be a time to share stories, laughter, and memories of the special ways Tim touched our hearts
