Madawaska---Verna Cyr-Fortin, 93, passed away on December 28, 2024, at a Fort Kent health care facility.  She was born in Fort Kent on March 20, 1931, daughter of the late Onesime and Leona (LaFrance) Pelletier.  She was a member of the senior volunteer program, RSVP.  She enjoyed doing genealogy for all the Acadian families in the Valley.  She is survived by two children, Rhea Jayne Cyr of St. David, and Gary Kim Cyr and his wife Erin of California; two grandchildren, Raylan Lagasse and his wife Lindsay of St. David and Jarian Lagasse and his wife Toni of Easton;  three great grandchildren, Evan, Liam, and Mea; one sister, Ethel Volinski of Connecticut; three brothers, Joseph Perley Pelletier and his wife Judy of Connecticut, Richard Pelletier and his wife Leeta of Fort Kent, and Clifton Pelletier and his wife Jeannette of Fort Kent; many nieces and nephews.  A Graveside Service will be held in the spring at the St. Thomas Cemetery.
