Madawaska---Verna J. Lausier, 81, passed away on April 4, 2019 at a Madawaska health care facility. She was born in St. David on August 25, 1937, daughter of the late Vincent and Irene (Hebert) Cyr. Verna was a loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a devout Catholic and prayer was a big part of her life. She was an inspiration to many and always helped people when they needed it. She loved doing jigsaw puzzles, listening to her western country music. She is survived by one son, Ken Lausier and his fiancé Diane of Madawaska; four daughters, Kathy Baron and her companion Jacques Laplante of Madawaska, Karla LeBlanc and her husband Daniel of Edmundston, NB, Lisa Lajoie and her husband Paul of Mapleton, Mary Ann Daigle and her husband Todd of Frenchville; four grandchildren, Emily Davis and her husband Erik of Austin, TX, Alex Baron and his wife Shelby of Jay, VT, Justin Baron and his companion Julia of Biddeford, Samuel LeBlanc and his companion, Karolyn of Edmundston, NB; one great grandchild expected in July; two step granddaughters, Aubrie Michaud and her husband Jeff of St. Agatha, Renée Deschaine and her husband Nate of St. David; two step great granddaughters, Mikayl and Emersyn Michaud of St. Agatha; one step great grandchild expected in September; one brother, Fernand Cyr of Madawaska; four sisters, Fernande Bush of Augusta, Jeanne Pratt of Madawaska, Martha Dufour and her husband Francis of Madawaska, Jackie Johnson of Scarborough; one special Goddaughter, Kate Dufour of Hallowell; many nieces and nephews. Verna was predeceased by her husband, Maurice J. Lausier; infant twins, Mary and John; one brother, Jean Paul (Helen) Cyr; and one sister, Jeannine (Jean Paul) Cyr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Monday, April 8, 2019 at the St. David Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6pm to 8pm on Sunday, April 7, 2019. There will be no visiting hours on Monday before Mass. Spring interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
