St. Francis - Vernal G. Nadeau passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024. He was born in St. Francis on October 14, 1944 to the late Patrick and Essie (Pelletier) Nadeau.

From a young age, Vern was drawn to the logging industry. He spent much of his childhood working deep in the northern Maine woods at logging camps owned by his father Patrick Nadeau. Following in his father's footsteps, Vern was a logging contractor for various landowners, but his greatest passion in life was the trucking side of the industry, whether it was trucking for himself or managing a fleet of his own trucks. His trucking roots run four generations deep with Vern's son and grandsons, Mike, Charles and William Nadeau, all choosing to continue their family legacy in logging.

Vern is survived by his wife Pauline (Ouellette) Nadeau; his son Mike Nadeau and his wife Leisa of St. John Plantation; his grandchildren, Katherine (Adam) Kenneson of Fort Kent, Charles (Kayla) Nadeau of St. John Plantation, Emmaline Nadeau of St. Francis, and William Nadeau of St. John Plantation; his five great grandchildren, Rosalie, Simon, & Elliot Kenneson, and Gracie & James Nadeau. Vern is also survived by his brother, Ronald Nadeau, and many special nieces and nephews.

Vern was predeceased by his son Robby Nadeau, whom he had missed terribly; his brother, Valeric "Gag" Nadeau, and his sisters, Patricia Albert, Gene Perreault, and Dawn Clavette.

Vern was a proud husband and father and will forever be remembered for his generosity, his love of all animals, and the countless humorous stories that he enjoyed sharing.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 31, 2024 at 10:00 at the St. John Catholic Cemetery in St. John Plantation. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be sent to Aroostook House of Comfort, PO Box 867, Presque Isle, ME 04769. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent.
