Vincent L. Puckett, Sr.'s Obituary

Vincent Puckett Sr., 88, passed away on March 26, 2026. He battled cancer on his own terms and after fully recovering from past maladies to the amazement of his medical team.

Vincent was a man who lived life on his own terms, known for his resiliency, independence, and strong work ethic. He worked late into his seventies, working as a 2nd Shift supervisor at Armstrong Tire, retiring from Crobb Box, deciding post retirement to be a security guard and a short haul trucker. He enjoyed delivering lobsters from Shediac to Logan Airport with his copilot Elaine.

At just 17 years old, the Kentuckian proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, beginning a journey that eventually brought him from Adak to Bar Harbor, where he met the love of his life, Elaine. Together, they built a life full of adventure and shared nearly six decades side by side.

Vincent also gave back to his community through his time volunteering with the Hancock Volunteer Police Department, a role that reflected his willingness to serve and protect the people around him.

He is survived by his children, Vin (Richelle), Randy, Cindy (Jay), Virginia and Martin (Kari), who carry forward his legacy and work ethic. He also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; each of whom brought him joy and pride. He also leaves behind his fiancé Ann Butterfield whom he loved dearly.

Vincent found peace outdoors, he loved Sunday picnics at Chatfield Hollow and other state parks. He loved fishing, especially at Webb Pond and remote areas along the Airline Road with his son-in-law Jay. Bowling was another favorite; he was a 186 average in his prime. He loved playing card games with his family and friends and tolerated some board games with the aid of a “snort” of scotch to drown out the antics of his wild, ill-mannered children, who behaved “like their mother!”

In lieu of a service, Vincent would encourage you to take extra time to enjoy a meal with family. Stay a little longer, share a story, raise a glass, and remember the moments that matter most.
