Obituary

MONTREAL – Viola Bouchard, 83, surrounded by her loving family, passed away in a palliative care residence on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, after suffering a period of declining health due to cancer.  She was born in St. David, Maine, September 29, 1934, daughter of the late Paul and Simone (Chasse) Bouchard, grand-daughter to the late Ernest Chasse of St. David, Maine.

Viola, a very devout Roman Catholic Christian, worked many years at Fraser Paper Limited, before migrating to Montreal, Quebec, Canada with her husband Gerald Grandmaison.  Loving mother to Shannon-Lynda Forsythe and Robert Grandmaison (married to Wendy Smith), she is survived by her two children, her brother Elden Bouchard (married to Jenny Thibeau) of Madawaska, Maine, her sister Anita Nadeau (married to Norman Nadeau) of Frenchville, Maine, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.  Her brothers and sister, now passed, were Norman, Clarence, and Rena Bouchard (married to Gerald Hebert).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Madawaska.  In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visiting hours.  Interment will immediately follow the service to the parish cemetery.
