Fort Kent--- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Violet (Vi) Harvey who departed this world on September 1, 2026, following a brief illness at Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent, Maine.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion that will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
Vi was predeceased by her husband, Roger; her parents, David and Roseanna Thibodeau; special sister, Doris O'Hearn; brothers, Norman and Lawrence Thibodeau.
Violet is survived by her children, Joan Banville, Brenda Harvey, and Gary Harvey; a special daughter-in-law, Louise Harvey, and son-in-law David Lawlor, who each carry forward her spirit and values. She was a proud and doting grandmother to Jason Banville, Michelle Michaud, Danielle Thibodeau, Sean Lawlor, and Mathew Harvey. Her love extended to her great-grandchildren, Kelsey Morneault, Alyssa Banville, Olivia, Sophia, and Gabriel Michaud, Logan, Ethan, and Abigail Thibodeau, and Trevor Harvey; her great-great-grandchild, Reed Morneault; and a special niece, Kathleen O'Hearn Corpaci and husband John, who will all remember her warmth and kindness.
A woman of profound faith, Vi was a devout member of Saint Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent, and the Ladies of Saint Anne. She found camaraderie in her quilting group, where her creativity and skill were admired and appreciated. She found joy playing cards and sharing life with her residential friends. Vi's life was a testament to her strong faith, unwavering kindness, and generous spirit. She was fiercely devoted to her children and grandchildren, and her home was a haven of love, and homemade treats and gifts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, September 11, 2026, at St. Louis Church, Fort Kent. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday morning 8:30-9:30 AM at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
