Obituary

Fort Kent—On September 7, 2021, Wallace Bouchard passed from his earthly life to his eternal one at Northern Maine Medical Hospital in Ft. Kent, ME. He was born the 4 th of 11 children on March 25, 1941 to Albert and Claira (LaFerrière) Bouchard in Wallagrass, ME.

His education was limited to 8 th grade level due to his being in the work force at a young age, but he sought to improve his reading skills by following scripture readings as they were read at weekly Mass where he was a faithful parishioner. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1934.

Wallace was a hard worker who labored as a logger and later as a truck driver which was the means by which he supported his growing family. Eventually, the sale of his skidder enabled him to invest in his Blue General which he loved with a passion. He was a jack of all trades and had the ability and talent to fix anything that needed fixing, including maintaining his own equipment.

He focused on the positive things in life and thanked God every day for his blessings.  When asked how his day was going, his answer would always be "any day my feet hit the floor, is a good day."  He loved his family very much. He was an amazing father, grandfather, uncle and friend to all. Those who knew Wallace were blessed by his kind and giving heart. He would help anyone in need and always thought of others before himself. He had a heart of gold and a smile that melted hearts. He was a tease and liked to have a good time.

He is survived by four children: Jim Bouchard, Gail Pelletier, Shirley Billings and Susan Dutkiewicz; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, as well as eight siblings: Norman, Rena Charette, Melford, Joseph, Nancy Shampang, Roger, Sally Siemiatkoski and Albert Jr. He is also survived by his special companion, Peggy McBreairty. He loved his protective and loyal little woman from the Allagash. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Blanche Nadeau and Priscilla (Dolly) Jandreau.

At his request, there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11am, at St. Joseph Church in Wallagrass, ME. Burial will be at a later time where his remains will be laid to rest on his mother's grave who loved him so. Remembrances may be made in his memory to: K of C Council #1934, P.O Box 366, Fort Kent, ME 04743.
