Obituary

Ashland--- Warren "Bill" Cassimore, Sr., 84, passed away peacefully December 29, 2021, at a Presque Isle hospital, following a short illness. He was born August 16, 1937, in Glenwood, NJ, a son of the late George and Edith (Brooks) Cassimore.

Bill last worked with Kelly Lumber Mill, Ashland, for several years. Previously, while residing in New Jersey, he was employed many years as a foreman with Limestone Asphalt Plant, Sparta, NJ, before relocating to Ashland, ME, in 1992. Bill was a life member and former president of Ashland's Aroostook River Fish and Game Club.  When he wasn't teasing his wife and children with his little jokes, he was an avid reader and would devour through many westerns and true history books. He enjoyed the serenity and slower pace of the County and was content staring out his downtown window looking at the beautiful hills and traffic driving by.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 67 years, Mary (Deppner) Cassimore of Ashland; four children, Bill Cassimore Jr. of Delaware, Ron Cassimore and his wife Sue of Virginia, Rick Cassimore and Tammy Burby, both of Ashland; four grandchildren, Kevin, Keri, Amanda & Ron Jr.; three great grandchildren, Caden, Dillan & Evan; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by nine siblings and a son-in-law, Wayne Burby Sr.

A memorial service will be celebrated by Bill's family privately. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St./PO Box 39, Ashland.
