Fort Kent – Warren Emile Harvey, 74, passed away on February 10, 2026 at NMMC surrounded by his loving family. The son of Emile and Esther (McPherson) Harvey, he was born on December 9, 1951, in St. Francis, Maine.
Warren graduated from Fort Kent Community High School in 1970, married Marie Mai (Kennedy) in Baker Lake, New Brunswick in 1972, and they opened a Radio Shack in Fort Kent in 1975. Together, they built a successful business, eventually establishing a second store in Madawaska. During his 33 years as a business owner, Warren was intrigued by the rapid evolution of technology, but what he really enjoyed was the musical equipment in the store because music was always his true passion.
Warren played instruments publicly for over 60 years, starting at the American Legion in St. Francis as a teenager. In 1974, he joined the popular local band “The Dynamics”; he and his second wife Joan continued the band as a two-piece ensemble into their retirement. Entertaining for audiences in both Maine and Florida, from restaurants to nursing homes, their gift of French and English music brought countless smiles, beautiful dancing, and fond memories to many appreciative listeners.
Warren was predeceased by his parents, infant sister Beverly, and his wife of 34 years, Marie Mai. He is survived by his son Curt and daughter-in-law Sylvia of Fort Kent; daughter Shannon and son-in-law Brett Hathaway of New Hampshire; and three grandsons of whom he was very proud, Mitchell Harvey, Connor Hathaway, and Collin Harvey. He is also survived by his wife of 15 years, Joan (Roy); his sister Susan and brother-in-law Irvin Fournier; many nieces and nephews, Joan’s siblings; and her children Darren, Mark, Glenn, Stacie, and their families.
A man with the “gift of gab”, Warren always had a funny story or a joke to share. He served in the National Guard for 6 years and was a member of the American Legion. He was a Fort Kent Lion and an original member of The Lion’s Club Band that entertained at the annual Lion’s Shows. He served as President of the Club D’age D’or in Lac Baker for 5 years. A proud member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1934 since 1972, Warren served as Grand Knight for 15 years.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the wonderful caring staff at Northern Maine Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026, at St. Louis Church, Fort Kent. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday morning 9 – 9:45 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross (Northern and Eastern Maine Chapter, 7 Hatch Drive, Suite 250, Caribou, ME 04736) and please consider a donation to your local blood bank.
