Wilfred H. Emond, also known as Earl W. Emond, 90, of Bristol, CT, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30, 2013 in Torrington, CT. Born on April 28, 1923 in Frenchville, ME, he was the son of the late Willie and Edith (Gervais) Emond. He was preceded in death by his wife Florida (LeCour) Emond. He was a Marine from 1942-1945. Following the service, he worked for Pratt and Whitney until he retired after 45 years of service. To those who knew him, he was a quiet man who made friends very easily wherever he went and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He leaves a daughter Carol Bayne and her husband James of Barkhamsted, CT; a grandson Shane LaFontaine of Bristol, CT; a sister Germaine O'Brien and her husband Jim of Exeter, NH; his 8 nieces and 5 nephews. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on 10am on Friday, December 6, 2013 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Madawaska. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Friday before the service from 8:30a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114-10th Avenue, Madawaska. Burial will be held at a later date.
