IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wilfred "Bea"
Pelletier, Jr.
December 8, 1947 – October 1, 2024
Fort Kent--- Wilfred (Bea) Pelletier Jr., 76, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2024, at NMMC, following a brave two-year battle with cancer. He was born on December 8, 1947, in Fort Kent, Maine, the son of the late Wilfred and Melina (Hebert) Pelletier. Wilfred, affectionately known as "Bea" had multiple careers in his early life, which began with Pratt and Whitney, in Connecticut. Returning to northern Maine he completed a short stint with the game warden service and the railroad company in Aroostook County. He married Linda Dubois, his high school sweetheart and quickly discovered his passion for building homes. He was an accomplished apprentice for Bertrand Dumais of Frenchville and later ventured into his own contracting and carpentry business called, Wilfred Pelletier, Jr. and Sons. He built and designed many of the beautiful homes found in the Saint John Valley region. The quality of his craftsmanship was in great demand. Bea had a love of fun and adventure. He was an expert fly fisherman and "chasseur". You could find him often running down to the Fish River Falls in springtime and out in his "blaze- orange", ready for the partridge hunt in Fall. He loved all the seasons and its bounty, including multiple bear, deer and moose hunting pursuits. He had so many wild tales to share with all who would listen. He loved the Allagash wilderness and taught his children how to appreciate its wildlife. He loved gardening and homesteading with Linda, whom he lovingly called his "bride" and gathered strawberries, blueberries, hazelnuts and apples in preparation for winter. He was a devout member of the Saint Louis Catholic Church and a Fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his four children, Carol Pelletier of Little Deer Isle, John and his wife Heather (Labbe) Pelletier of Fort Kent, Jason and his wife Lissa (Renault) Pelletier of Hermon, and Cathy and her husband Beau Daigle of New Canada. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Clark and Kara Pelletier, Caleb Pelletier, Wyatt and Easton Daigle. He is survived by his loving family members Juliette (Milton) Pelletier, Mildred (Phil) Dubois of Fort Kent, Gloria (Roger) Caron of St. Agatha and Joan (Ken) Paradis of Eagle Lake. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his cherished "bride" of 55 years, Linda (Dubois) Pelletier, five brothers, Ludger, Albert, Edgar, Richard, Clifford and his sister, Germaine Soucy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at St. Louis Church, Fort Kent. Relatives and friends may greet the family Wednesday morning 8:30–9:30 AM at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent. Burial to follow at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
